A complete refurbishment and spatial redesign of a Victorian terrace flat in East London. The design celebrates the property’s generous proportions and surviving marble fireplace, balancing its historic character with the client’s curated mid-century furniture.

To better suit modern living, the kitchen was shifted forward into the grand front reception rooms, creating an open-plan hub for entertaining while reserving the quiet rear for the bedroom and bathroom. High performance acoustic insulation was installed beneath reclaimed oak parquet floors throughout, and bespoke joinery, including a new hallway loft storage loft, was integrated to maximise storage without compromising the useable floorspace.
